Xavier J. Castaneda

Xavier J. Castaneda, was born on February 14, 2004, in Garden City. He died August 3, 2024, in Garden City, Kansas. His journey, though brief, was marked by an indomitable spirit and a fervent zest for life.
He was a proud graduate of Garden City High School. Xavier's professional path as a project manager at Ready Roofing showcased his exceptional ability to grasp and master new skills rapidly. Aside from work, Xavier was a young man of boundless curiosity and adventure. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, paddling through the serene waters of Scott Lake and scaling the adventurous heights of Colorado's cliffs. His respect for his grandmother was as deep as the lakes he canoed. Xavier's spirit was characterized by his quirky sense of humor and infectious friendliness that drew people to him. His friends and family will remember him as a go-getter with lofty aspirations. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, and his spirited nature left a mark on the world. He showed us that life is not just about the destination but also about the journey and the joy we find along the way. We are left with an unfillable void and a profound appreciation for the time we were privileged to share with him.
Xavier was the beloved son of Crystal Perez and Matthew Castaneda, a brother to Felix, Angelita Shi Chavez Koehn, Avianna Perez, and Aliza Pineda, and a cherished grandson to Roxann McReynolds and grandfathers Tony Hernandez and Mike Castaneda. He was the adored great-grandson of Connie Chavez, and the proud uncle to Zayden Castaneda. Other survivors include numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Angelita Chavez, great grandfather, John Chavez and cousin, Olivia Rose, great grandmother, Candy Lopez and great grandfather Tony Hernandez Sr.
Visitation will be held 9:00 am- 8:00 pm Friday August 9, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 am Saturday August 10, 2024 also at Garnand Funeral Home.
