Zachary "Zac" Thomas Atchison, 33, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of Don Atchison and the late Susan Vincent Atchison.
Zac, a talented violinist, shared his gift with the world and even had the honor of playing at Carnegie Hall. His love for music was only rivaled by his passion for basketball. He had an unparalleled love for the game, always seeking out a court wherever he traveled, showcasing his skills and spreading his love for the game. In addition to his dedication to basketball and music, Zac had a deep love for travel, always seeking new adventures and experiences.
But perhaps what truly set Zac apart was his servant's heart. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a friend or stranger in need, embodying kindness and compassion in all his interactions.
In honoring Zac's memory, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives, the love he shared so freely, and the zest for life that he embodied. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts as he finds peace and joy on the ultimate court above.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his fiancé, Rukayat Balogun; brothers, Kevin Atchison and Jeffery Atchison; sister-in-law, Shellie Atchison; niece, Hadley Atchison; nephew, Max Atchison; members of his birth family, Wanda Sadler (aunt), Crystal Sadler (aunt), and Deborah Drummond (grandmother); and other extended family.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
