Jackie Gwen Stalter Simmons 1947 - 2016. Jackie passed away after a year-long struggle with lung cancer on Saturday, the 1 st of October 2016 at home in Kingwood, TX. She left behind a wonderful legacy of generosity, love and dedication to family and friends. Jackie was born 10 th of October, 1947 in Athens, TX. Her family later moved to Waxahachie, TX where she spent much of life until she moved to Kingwood, TX in 1980. Jackie was preceded in death by her father Jack Stalter and her son Ronald Wayne Simmons, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Ronald Wayne Simmons, mother Joyce Stalter, brother Buddy Stalter, daughters Shannon Simmons, Kristin and husband Edward Peete, Daughter-in-law Aimee Simmons, grandchildren Kassidy and Kaelee Simmons, Madison, Makenna, Malaney, Carter, and Chandler Peete.
Jackie dedicated herself to her faith, family, and friends. She was a very passionate woman with lots of interests, especially gardening where she and her husband Ron would spend hours every day tending to. Her laughter was infectious; her charm and wit could fill a room. A wonderful cook and homemaker who wanted her love of life and family to be reflected in her home. But most important to Jackie was her love of the lord.
She was the epitome of Southern grace. She will be truly missed and was loved by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Lung Cancer Alliance, as the treatment for small cell lung cancer has not changed for over 40 years.
