Lewis Thomas Williams, 77, of Houston, joined our Heavenly Father on July 27, 2016 after courageously battling Parkinson's Disease.
Lewis was born in Humble, on September 22, 1938 to the late Lewis "Poncho" Williams Sr. and Pauline Williams.
Lewis graduated from Humble High School in 1957 and graduated with a Bachelors in Applied Science from University of Houston and a Masters Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University.
Coach lived a very full life until the end. While working on his education he drove a truck for Texaco and married the late Sherra Williams. After graduating he traveled from city to city following his coaching career and settled his Family in Beasley, where he coached football and then golf at Lamar Consolidated High School until he retired. He always stayed busy in the summers from buying a maize combine and grain truck, to managing the Rosenberg city pool, and teaching Drivers Ed. He owned one of the larger mowing service in the area which employed many of the young students with summer jobs. Later he owned three convenience stores and two washaterias in the area.
After marrying his wife Debbie they traveled the states making fudge and making and selling jewelry.
He loved to experience life. He loved, fishing, hunting dove, golfing, floating the river in New Braunfels, participating in cook-offs, riding horses. He was a Life Time Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. And involved his children in all.
Lewis is survived by his loving wife Debbie who never left his side; his daughter Kelley Smith and husband Darrell and son Damon Williams and wife Jalyn; grandchildren Dylan and Alyssa Smith and Makayla and Kylee Williams.
Anyone that knew him, knew he was truly one of a kind. Coach's generosity and work ethic touched many lives.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in his honor.
