Manuel Michael Luis, Jr. was born June 28, 1944 in Danbury, CT to Manuel and Priscilla and passed away Friday April 17, 2015 in Kingwood, TX. Boglarski of Fairfax Station, VA. and Barbara Garofalo of Hendersonville, N.C.; brother-in-law, Col. Stephen P. Boglarski USA-Ret; sister-in-law, Jody Smith; niece, Wendy Zucca; nephew, Lt. Col. Stephen L. Boglarski USAF and wife Amanda; great nieces; Samantha Boglarski and Sarah Zucca and great nephew, Eric Boglarski. He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla and Manuel, his father. Manny loved his career as a pilot. He served 21 years in the US Air Force and Wisconsin Air National Guard, flying the KC 135 (air refueling) for the Strategic Air Command, retiring as Lt Colonel in 1990. Manny also retired in 2004 after flying over 20 years with Continental Airlines. Manny is remembered as a generous and courageous soul. He adored his family, laughed a lot and lived life to the fullest. He faced cancer, Stem Cell Transplant and subsequent complications with determination and optimism. M.D. Anderson has been Manny's other home over the past 8 years. His care was the best with special appreciation of Amin Alousi M.D. (his physician), Brenda Robertson, the Stem Cell Transplant Clinic team and Jasia Russell and the Rehabilitation Team all of whom matched Manny's enthusiasm about regaining his health. Manny, Matt and Cas appreciate the tremendous love and support from family and friends during this journey.
