Nancy Shein Obituary

On Tuesday Evening February 2nd, Nancy Jo Edwards Schein in her words "made the transition" and returned to her source, wherever that may be. Still hanging in there are: her devoted husband of 48 years Aaron Schein, daughters Charlotte, (Dylan Reid of Atlanta), Catherine Soutter of Palm Springs, CA, Vanessa (Jonathan Joy) of Austin, TX, grandchildren Zoe, Quinten and Chloe.

Nancy, born September 8, 1944 in Rome, Georgia, by her late parents Pauline and Taft Edwards, the youngest of 3, survived by her caring siblings Charlotte Edwards Jones and Don Edwards of Atlanta, niece and nephews Carolyn (David Fichtner and family) of Auburn, Al, Bill Edwards of Costa Rica, and her cousin Manola Wheeler of Alabama. Her loving and devoted brother in law Stanley Schein (wife Isabel) and Beaufort family- Bernie, Martha, Maggie Schein and Jonathan Hannah for without them we'd be starving and humorless.

A proud Greenville high alumni, graduate from University of South Carolina, Masters in Humanities from University of Houston. An English and philosophy teacher, chemical dependency counselor, founder/owner Baybrook Travel Agency and Nancy's Bookmark in Houston, Tx. She was a volunteer for Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Ombudsman for Texas nursing homes, Bay Area Symphony League, and pug rescue.

Special thanks to Tomeka & MSA Hospice, the caring staff at Summit Place of Beaufort, Dr. Lucius Laffitte, Emily Mobley/ support group and her devoted and caring friend Louise Murray, and Nancy and Aaron's longtime friends of Beaufort, Houston, Colorado and beyond for their support and love in keeping the stories and memories with us always.

Any donations to Beth Israel Synagogue and Alzheimer's Association of Beaufort. A gathering honoring her life will be held at a later date.
