Last night 8-06-2021, Sally and I celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends in Colorado. Scott was in our thoughts not only because he was my Best Man, he was one of my best friends throughout high school.

Scott was one of my best friends in High School. We were team mates and did everything together. He was my best man at my wedding, and Sally and I introduced him to Jeanie. He will be truly missed and our condolences go to Jeanie and family.

I am pleased to share with the family that I have communicated with the UTA athletic department. A blast notice of Scott's passing has be sent this AM to the entire UTA ex-letterman's group. This team of football players can now pay their respects in their personal manner. His helmet is also placed figuratively in a special place. This happened so quickly that attendance at the service is difficult, but Teammates will be there in spirit....Buddy Miers #90

Scott and I played football together at Pasadena High School. He was our fullback and strong as a bull. He was my friend and will be missed.

Scott and I did not get together as much in our later years but we never really parted. In high school we actually shared homes and parents. Both mothers took care of both of us ( we probably almost drove them up the wall). We then shared three great years as roommates in college, were in each other's weddings, and remained in touch thereafter. Last saw Scott when they were at our house a couple of months ago. He was still just Scott - the best friend I or anyone else ever had and best man I ever knew. We will all miss him, but we do know he was called by our Savior Jesus Christ, who will care for him until we see him again. Scott you will be missed. Jim Porter

Scott Russell had a smile and a laugh that cannot be matched. On our last conversation I mentioned to him that my husband was restoring an old El Camino. He chuckled that laugh and said "WOW..Oh how I wish I had one of those". He had such a quiet demeanor but somehow one just knew his mind was rapidly thinking about something when he would cut his eyes in your direction. He loved Jeanie( who was my best friend since jr. high school)... plus I was in their wedding 50 yrs. ago. I just know that when the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Love you Scott and God watch over your precious family until we all meet again.

Scott was blessed with a friendly spirit and most kind heart. A gentle giant that could lift 2 male nurses, one in each arm, he possessed a benign and tender soul. It has been my honor to have known and cared for Scott, his laugh always reminded me of Santa Claus.

We want to express our deepest sympathy to the Bryant family. Scott was a tremendous source of inspiration / laughter / great conversations. Our friendship with the entire Bryant family has so enriched our lives. We should all' take comfort in knowing that Scott is now with the Lord that he so faithfully served throughout his life. The memory of Mr Scott' will always be in our hearts - we will never forget him!

My sincere condolences to the family, his sons, and lovely wife. Scott was a warrior and a true believer. We shared college football and life afterwards. The big Eagle from Pasadena was my best friend. May God bless his spirit. Harris W. Miers Jr. #90 UTA 1959-1961.
