He graduated from the St. Johns River Community College Correctional Officers Program and was a member of the fraternal Order of Police. He was an enthusiastic reenactor, participating in many 18th century, Civil War, and World War II events.
He is survived by his wife Mandy Dale, and his parents Charles and Patti Dale, his sister, Amanda Dale, brother, Army Spc. Michael Dale, who is stationed in Korea, his mother-in-law, Barbara Wilson, and brother-in-law, Nick Wilson, all of St. Augustine, his grandmother, Arlene Mack of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and by his many friends and brothers and sisters at the Sheriff's Office.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Frances Dale and his grandfather, Lee Mack.
The viewing is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Craig Funeral Home.
The funeral with Sheriff's Office Honors will be held at Craig Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Young presiding on Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. followed by burial at Craig's St. Augustine Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Chris's name be made to the Billy Foundation for Melanoma Research, 26203 Production Ave, Suite 12-A, Hayward, CA., 94545; Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road Jacksonville, FL 32257; Army Emergency Relief, 200 Stovall Street, Alexandria, VA., 22332; and the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office "Four Star Charities" c/o Sheriff's Office, 4015 Lewis Speedway, St Augustine, FL 32084.
