The best doc I ever had. Talked to you as an equal, never down at you. Always remembered my family problems even though I was the only one in the family that saw him. A big loss.

usually my words easily flow
but now it seems they just won't go
I'm filled w/such grief
and truly a disbelief;
I can't imagine how it is
for this large&loving family of his.
Dr. Moretti
was everything to me
that a man should be
So charming and witty
Such a generous, smart, selfless, handsome, noble and humble man
Truly a dedicated Doctor
personified what his hippocratic oath was for
and he gave so much more
He tried to find the best when reffered
&always w/a reassuring word.
As the field of medicine grew
he kept up w/what was new
Sharp and up to date
caring less of the hourly rate
&most for his patients' fate,
when needed he would bravely advocate
He was one of a kind,a true GREAT.
Even as a nurse,I couldn't trust doctors
til I walked through his doors
I'll never forget
the day we met
I didn't expect
to be treated w/such respect
over the years things to come
He had a wisdom
only God given to some
things only to him I'd confide
and he cared about things held inside
He took the time
to fill out forms&letters to sign
endlessly giving of himself and his time
He'd even ask to hear my latest rap or rhyme!
His personal touch
meant so much
inpatient and alone
He'd call on the phone
letting staff,&specially me, know I was cared for and not alone.
To faith he held fast
as his trials slowly passed
Things he did not desserve
life threw him many a curve
&ignorantes persecuted,oh,the nerve
for only we priviledged; we were
to have known this wonderful character
this true gentleman of the world
still referring to Donna as "a lovely girl"
Recently I empathetically cared
this insidious,cruel disease we shared
God, Why was he not spared?
It is a great cost
that he,to us, is lost
He saved my life and many more
so now no more sickness&pain to endure
our healer,
our DOC, is in heaven for sure
I still see that charming smile&wink
and I still think
How do you describe a saint?
and my mind whispers faint
for if Dr. Moretti is not one
he is as close as they come
(he promised not to retire before I died-even facing his own problems he still cared enough to make sure we'd still be ok (this is so rare&so appreciated). I always felt ok because he made himself always available when in need.(another rarity) w/great appreciation, respect, and love
God Bless

Dear Donna, We think of "Doc" each day with new memories of what a wonderful Man/Doctor and giver to people in need. We shared many laughs and we enjoyed being part of the Christmas party with your family and friends each Holiday Season. Santa Jerry opened the children's eyes with wonder each Christmas and we enjoyed being there with great love. Carlo was a loving son and adored and missed by you both. He was always such a wonderful boy/man to us with great manners and pleasant smiles and left us quite a wonderful boy, Aiden. We know they are reunited now in paradise.
We feel happy to have known Doc and his family and will think of him for a long time to come. His healing touch and conversations helped so many people during hard times. We honor his life on earth as "Our living Angel/Friend on Earth."

I am a psychologist in Worcester and I am not from this area originally so I did not know about his history here. Many of my clients would talk about how wonderful Dr. Moretti was with his sense of humor and his caring. The few times I was in his company, it seemed like I was talking to one of my uncles. With his passing, an era in medical care passed with him. That caring, down to earth doctor who really cared for his patients.

Dr. Moretti was not only our Family Doctor, but a true friend. My parents were his patients, which in turn led to the last 36 years of me under his watchful eye. He has been there for countless good times as well as helping the grieving process when it seemed like it would never end. I used to love to go to his office, and would "make up" reasons that mom or dad had to bring me when I was younger. When my father passed suddenly, he was the one who made the house call - make sure my brother and I were eating, and strong. He was the one I went to when I just needed to talk. The backdoor was always open, as well as the phone lines when needed.

He was an amazing man in life, one which will not be forgotten. He continues to be the guardian angel in spirit which he started on this earth.

To the Moretti Family, I hope this helps ease the pain of grief knowing how many lives he had touched with the truest of hearts. My prayers are with you.

Words can't express the love and respect we have for our "Dr Moretti". When other's try to tear him down he "always" stood his ground and continued to attend to his love of all his patients. To say that he truly was a person who cared about his patients is a understatement. Dr, Moretti, rest in peace, for you deserve to be with the angels up above.

To the Moretti Family,
Although I have lost touch with everyone over the years, I have very fond memories of you and "Uncle Mario and Auntie Joanne." My dad, John Corsetti, would give me periodic updates on everyone, but after his passing 3 years ago, I have completely lost contact. My parents adored Mario, so much so that they asked him to be my God father. I have very fond memories of him from my childhood. I would like to send my heartfelt condolences. I would also like to extend my mother's (Dolores) sympathies to the entire family.

Dr. Moretti was an inspiration to every person he met at Dana-Farber. His warmth and sense of humor made him a favorite in the clinic. I was particularly moved by his bravery in the face of adversity and the unknown. As frightening as things were, his instinct was to protect his family and those he loved. Despite the pain from his disease and uncertainty regarding his prognosis, he fought constantly to keep everyone's spirits high. I imagine that this strength is what made him so beloved by his patients. I will never forget him and he will always be the standard to which I will aspire. My best to Donna and the rest of the family.

November 15, 2009

Dr. Moretti was more than just a doctor. He was a healer. He'd come in the exam room with the mask on his face, ask me what the blank was wrong with me, and I'd laugh and immediately begin to feel better. He'd examine me thoroughly and tell me what was wrong and what to do. He was one of the best diagnosticians around, probably because he'd seen it all over the years. He was the only doctor you could go to at any time, no appointment necessary. Just put your name down on the list and wait, go walk around Spag's while you were waiting. His patients included every race, ethnic group, sexual orientation, and economic class. I wish I had recorded some of the conversations I heard in his waiting room. There was never anyone like him before, and there will never be anyone like him again. He was truly one of a kind.

To the Family of Dr. Moretti,

I remember being a small girl and Mom taking me to the Dr's.office. I was very comfortable and not afraid.

As the years passed this wonderful Dr. turned into this caring , Gental man that could take one look and know just what to do or where to send you for your treatment.

Back when Mom was moving to FL. in the 80's , there was Dr. Moretti at our front door with his killer smile a dozen of Roses and a box of candy for Mom. He was always thinking of others.

Everyone else came first!! Dr. Moretti was down to earth and would just talk if that is what you needed .

He will be truly missed but never forgotten.

I hope the Moretti family finds some comfort in knowing that the good Dr. touched so many people and was loved and cared for very much.

" Until we will meet again Dr. Moretti "

Prayers to all.

Dear Doc,
You brought me into this world on February 10,1965. I came into this world a very sick child. We did not have a lot of money I am one of 7. You came to our house and took care of me for a very long time. Without you I could have died. No matter what you were always there for me. I don't know how many times you have called me saying Paulie whats wrong kiddo. Or when I went there to see you. You always said I love you kiddo. Even now you did at 45 years old. You are my hero. I always knew no matter what state I was in or whatever happened to me. I could call you. Even last year when I was in mexico. You told me what to do. I was fine a couple days later. Doc I will truly miss you. I will always be greatful. You are an angel sent to us from GOD.
Thanks Doc
I love you

My first memory of Dr.Moretti, was when I was 5 years ols,It was a Christmas eve,and I had come down with the measels. He was at a Christmas Party,a few towns away, and he left the party to come and see me. He examined me,and made arrangements for my treatment.
Over the years, because of that reason,he became my Doctor. That was over 45 years ago. I remeber being so sick, that he would come to my house to take care of me. Always pleasant and caring, put his patients ahead of himself. I have never met a Dr. like Dr. Moretti.
He is going to be sadley missed by everyone that he came in contact with. Rest in peace Dr. Moretti

To The Moretti Family,

Dr. Moretti was such a huge part of my family my entire life. My father specifically (William McCann) thought the world of Mario and I honestly can't count the times he would praise Mario throughout my childhood and adulthood. It's hard to even express here how much of an impact Dr. Moretti had on my entire family. I could hardly do this justice in this note.
When both of my parents were diagnosed with Leukemia, Mario was there a phone call away with anything that we ever needed.
I'm sure it is not necessary to explain how great of a doctor he was to you his family, but I hope you also understand how much faith my parents had in this man. To have him there during their illnesses gave them a great deal of comfort. I hope you can at least take comfort in knowing that he is not suffering any more and that my father was one of the first there to greet him as he passed.
With great sympathy,
Meghan McCann

Dr.Moretti was our family doctor for over 30 years. He would always come in to see you wearing a mask. Intially that would seem he was inpersonal. Yet he would take off the mask and then see you in his office. He would talk to you and get to know you as a person. He knew details of my family and when I would see him in public,he would remember something I told him years ago and ask me about it. Our family not only regarded him as the best doctor we ever had but also as a friend. There simply was no one like him. He truly was remarkable.

Dr. Moretti was not only my doctor for many years, he was a friend who guided me with life altering decisions. I remember the time he came to my rescue when I was doing acrobatics in my home and I got "stuck" in a position. My mother ran next door to get him in his office and he came immediately and got me out of my predicament. He was truly a caring individual who went out of his way for his patients
