Deloris Hinton Obituary
Deloris "Joan" (Kuntz) Hinton, 90, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. She loved her family and adored each of her grandkids. Joan was fond of her pets, an avid sports fan, enjoyed gardening and also drinking an occasional cold beer.
She was born on February 27, 1934 to Carl, Sr. and Mary (Cannon) Kuntz. Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Ellison, Sr. and Paul "Beans" Hinton, Sr.; and brother, Carl Kuntz, Jr.
Joan is survived by her children, Bob Ellison, Jr. (Connie), Debi Owens (Jerry), Paul Hinton, Jr. (Lindsey), Dawn Locke; grandchildren, Bobby Ellison III (Amy), Shane Ellison, Jay Owens (Jennifer), Tara Hackett (Richard), Isaac Hinton, Isabella Hinton; great-grandchildren, Caleb Ellison, Grace Ellison, Brenna Hackett, Shanna Hackett, Lucy Owens; and sister, Janet Kuntz.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to the J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter (201 Willinger Lane, Jeffersonville) or to the Alzheimer's Association.
