Diane Louise Struemph, 61, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13th, 2024, in her home. She was born on November 20th, 1962, in Jefferson City, the beloved daughter of Joseph and Mary (Oidtman) Hillen. Diane graduated from Helias Catholic High School in 1981. She joined the love of her life, Mark Struemph, in Holy Matrimony on August 20th, 1988.
Diane started her career with St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 16, holding many positions throughout the years before leaving in 2013 after 34 years of service. Diane valued faith and family above all; she was especially excited for the arrival of her first grandson. She had a passion for volunteer work, including a commitment to Mid America Teens Encounter Christ, Cursillo, and Jefferson City Marriage Encounter for many years. For the past five years, Diane was an integral part of Building Community Bridges, which she truly loved, providing inspiration and leadership to the people she considered family. In addition, she was currently serving on the parish council at the Proto-Cathedral of St. Peter, and was an active coordinator of the World Day of the Poor.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her son, Benjamin Struemph (Makenzie) and her first grandson on the way; brother, Dan Hillen (Clara); sisters, Mary Jo Henke (Keith) and Kathy Hillen; brother-in-law, Dave Bexten (Patty); mother-in-law, Clara Struemph. She is also survived by several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Joseph Hillen; brother, Steve Hillen (Betty); sister, Janice Bexten; and father-in-law, Martin Struemph.
Friends will be received from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, with a prayer service beginning at 3:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 20th, 2024, at Proto-Cathedral of St. Peter in Jefferson City, Missouri, with Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG as celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
