Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Heather was the daughter of the late Carl Frank Horten and Alice Jeanette Yereance Horten. She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College with a degree from the Culinary School. She was the chief baker for Charlotte Memorial Hospital for more than 35 years. Heather was a former member of Unity Presbyterian Church. She loved reading, doing arts and crafts, shopping, and working puzzles. During her residence at Wellmore of Tega Cay, Heather enjoyed assisting with various projects, especially utilizing the outdoor grills, and was known for giving directions to folks.
Heather is survived by her brother, Dr. Bruce C. Horten of New York. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Frank Horten and her mother, Alice Jeanette Yereance Horten.
