James Eric Kimbrell, age 56, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Garden Sanctuary Church of God. The funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the church sanctuary. The burial will be at Belair U.M.C in Indian Land, SC. Born in Rock Hill, SC, Eric was the son of Helen Wyles Yarger and stepfather Nelson Yarger. He graduated from Fort Mill High School class of 1987 and received his associate's degree in accounting at York Technical College. Eric was very involved in the school's extracurricular activities, including the marching band and he drove buses for the Fort Mill School District. Eric was a proud U.S. Army National Guard veteran, serving 31 years and two campaigns, one tour to Iraq and two to Afghanistan. He retired at the rank of Seargent First Class and was a great mentor to his military family. Eric also worked at Servicon Sales as an inside sales representative for over 25 years. He was a member of Garden Sanctuary Church of God in Rock Hill, SC and he enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, going to church and he was a diehard UNC Tarheels fan. Most importantly, he loved his family, his daughters and his grandchildren. He was a man of many hats, and he loved serving his community, his country and his church. Eric is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tammi Faile Kimbrell; children, Hailey Peeler (TJ), Dori Mathis (Jonah); siblings, Ronald Kimbrell, Max Talbert, Amy Franceschelli; one grandchild, Luna Grace Mathis; aunt Jo Bennett and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Michael and Dianne Faile and his uncle Bobby Bennett. Memorials may be made to Garden Sanctuary Church of God.
