Jo Ann Langley, 82, of Virginia Beach VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Bertha McLeod; her sister, Shirley Harrison; and her husband, William Langley.
Jo Ann was born in North Carolina but grew up in Berkley and attended Maury High School. Although she graduated from Great Bridge High School, she always considered herself "a Maury girl". She is survived by her children, Lynn Ryan (Mike) and Stephen Poteat; her granddaughter, Lisa Deafenbaugh (Jordan); her great granddaughters, Piper and Finley; and her brother, Winfred McLeod (Virginia). Jo Ann worked as an administrative assistant while living in Delaware. She enjoyed boating along the upper Chesapeake Bay with her husband, visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina with her family, and keeping in touch with her lifelong friends from the Berkley neighborhood. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank her close friends Wendy and Joey Caruthers for their friendship and kindness especially during Jo Ann's illness.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 30th at 2pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to VBSPCA [email protected].
