Rosemary "Mimi" Paine, 92, of St. Augustine, Florida passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025. Born on December 10, 1932, in Utica, New York, she lived a long, full life marked by faith, service, and love for her family and community.
Mimi was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Lawrence Alderic Paine; her daughter, Suzanne Paine; her son, Lawrence Paine; and her parents, Carl and Elma Ferrazz. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Paine Mas (Donald Cole); daughter-in-law, Paige Yarbrough Paine; and five cherished grandchildren: Lauren Paine Kamensky (Bo), Michael Mas (Vanessa), Rob Paine, Kelly Mas, and Julie Mas.
A dedicated educator, Mimi taught for several years at Cathedral Parish School and later served as a substitute teacher in various schools across St. Johns County. Beyond the classroom, she was a passionate and active volunteer, holding leadership roles in both the Women's Exchange and The Garden Club of St. Augustine, Camellia Circle. Her commitment to helping others was matched by her strength of character-she was fiercely independent, intelligent, tenacious, and always ready to extend a hand to those in need.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Mimi was a long-time parishioner of The Cathedral Basilica in St. Augustine, where a Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in her memory to The Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Augustine or to an organization that reflects her legacy of compassion and community service.

Michele,
We are so sorry to hear about your mother passing. Mimi was a great person; I will always remember her smile and her positive attitude.
May she rest in peace and may the peace and comfort of the Lord be with you and all your family.
I think of you all often.
