Col. James L. Peacock, Ret., age 82, went to be with our dear Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and two daughters. Col. Peacock was born in Blooming Grove, Texas to Maudellon and James Peacock. He was raised in Ennis, Texas and he attended Kilgore Junior College and Lamar University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree on a full football scholarship. He earned a Masters of Engineering from Texas A & M University and a Masters of Hospital Administration from Baylor University. Col. Peacock was drafted into the Army in 1959, where he proudly served our country for 27 years. In 1960, he married the loves of his life, Sandy, and for the next 56 years his passion and love were his family. He lived a life of integrity and incredible work ethic. He was loved by many and had a positive influence on those he touched. Col. Peacock is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; Daughters Tamara Brown and Terri Smider; Son-In-Laws Joe Brown and Brian Smider; Grandchildren Jourdan, Tyler, Jamie Alexandra and Austin; Brother Jerry Peacock.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Kingwood Funeral Home.

Sandy, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I pray that God will give you His Peace and Comfort during this difficult time. "I know Who holds tomorrow and I know He holds my hand" from an old hymn that I love. Love and prayers.
