I have know John for 30 years through his job. He had cleaned my carpets and furniture every year and always did an excellent job. I will truly miss seeing him once a year and may his contributions to life always be remembered. I will always think of John as an upstanding man, great worker, but most of all as a friend. Rest in peace, dear friend.

My sincere condolences to John's family. I am a member of the Downey family so I knew John as a kid and later worked with him when I worked in the office at Downey's. He was a pleasure to work with, and my brothers who trained under John especially enjoyed his sense of humor. John always made you feel like he was happy to see you.

I did not see John often but when I did it was always a pleasure.
Last year John and I drove together to Donna Chapmans funeral. We talked about how great Donna was. We also talked about John's family, his wife his daughters, John was truly happy.
John also asked me about my family, my brothers Steve and Wink, my sisters Patty and Sue.
My family had a lot of history with John and I'm glad to say it was all good.
I remember thinking on my way home of how great a guy John was.

I'm shocked and just sick. I spoke to John Wednesday morning, like I have most weekdays over the last 40 or so years. I worked with John, he was a rock, THE most hard working and reliable Man I have ever known . Words just cannot do him justice. I will NEVER forget him so he will live on with me. He spoke of his Girls and Grandkids incessantly, taking breath only long enough to fill me in on his golf score from Monday night. I know how hard this is for all of you and my prayers are for you right now, Find solace from each other, hold tight and be thankful for the time you had together. Heaven is a better place tonight
