Micah Gilbert

Micah Wendell Gilbert of Porter, Texas was born on January 19th, 2001 in Brownwood, Texas and left his family and friends on December 7, 2017. Micah spent most of his youth in Porter, Texas, where he attended Porter High School for his freshman and sophomore years. He was a junior and proud Crusader at Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball where he played football and basketball. He grew up playing football, baseball, and basketball with EMCSA and was marked by the class and competitiveness of the coaches and team members in that wonderful organization. Micah was passionate about many things: life, music, sports, family, friends, Jesus. He was active in his youth group at Journey Church, where he was loved and where he blessed those he worshipped alongside. He was the kind of man you couldn't ignore when he walked in a room. He lived with confidence and deep compassion, a mix of toughness and tenderness. He could kick your rear and make you laugh while he did it. Micah's father, Wendell Gilbert, mother, Denise Breazeale Gilbert, and brother, Caleb Gilbert, remain behind longing for Micah's smile, laughter, and caring presence. This world was a better place with Micah in it, and for so many of us this world has lost a good bit of its luster. We look forward to the day when we see that warm smile of his again.

Services were held at Calvary Christian Church on Tuesday December 12, 2017 and he was laid to rest at Rosewood Cemetery, Porter, Texas.
