Just last night Greg was talking to a friend about when he joined Jefferson Golf. The friend joined about the same time mentioned he had been a little worried about it "taking off" when he joined. Greg said, Oh really, I wasn´t worried at all. I knew if Mike Dehlendorf was involved, it would succeed. He was one of a kind

Still can’t believe Mike is gone. Let me say, I “heard” about Mike Dehlendorf before I actually “met” him. Of course, my husband, Greg Conley, had been friends with him for years and Mike had quite the reputation! I adored him from the start, but it was later I finally got to meet his wonderful wife, Connie. And that is where my story will begin. Greg called me one day to say he had run into Mike and had made plans for the 4 of us to meet for dinner (Cap City Diner). While I was at Kroger’s, a girlfriend called and during our chat I was telling her how excited i was to finally meet Mike D’s wife. That when I asked Greg what she was like, he said, “oh Camille, you are going to love her”, so I shared my excitement that day on the phone with my friend. That evening was all had a great time together and Mike says to Connie, “shall we tell Camille our little secret?” And Connie laughed and shook her head yes, so Mike tells me, that during my call at Kroger’s, I had been standing near Connie and she overheard the entire conversation and so happy to have heard such a nice conversation about her and Mike. Well, that my friends, was the beginning of a beautiful friendship! We ran into each other and each time, we made plans to spend New Year’s in Vero Beach, or dinner here in Ohio. Thanks for the fun times Mike & Connie!!!

Dear Connie, Laura, Michael and Matthew,
We are deeply sorry to hear about your loss. If it was not for your dad, my horse Sommy would never have been placed at Ohio State University and put in a cast for his broken leg after being hit by a car on Noe-Bixby Road. I am forever grateful for his compassion and I will never forget his love for animals and especially my pony. Love, Joanie (Havens) Cochran and Maria Sepich my mother have been thinking of all of you and what wonderful neighbors and friend you were to us on Naiche Court!
He will forever be in our thoughts and prayers

Dear Connie and family: My sincere condolences to you all. The world has lost a man whose courage and humor through all his travails were inspirational, and he was always so darned entertaining! Never a dull moment with him. I can only imagine your sorrow. Thinking of you all fondly, Darcy (Hurt) Wolf.

I've known Mike casually for over thirty years. Then about three years ago, we started having lunch regularly and we became closer.
He was a coupon saver, he loved a bit of gossip, his opinions were firm and his political views were to the right of Attila the Hun, but when it came to his family his affection was simply all out, with no holds barred. When he talked about his children he spoke of them as peers, as cherished friends and he talked about them with great respect and love. And with Connie, well, she was the greatest woman who ever lived.
He lived a passionate, loving, involved life. It deserves the celebration of his life that I am sure you gave him. I regret my infirmities kept me from attending, but I am better because he was my friend.
