A great principal:) I had him as a principal from 8th grade to 12th grade. He was positive and approachable. Also helpful! I have a funny story of when I fainted in 9th grade. He helped me out of the class and then when I fainted again in stairwell he picked me up to carry me to the clinic. I woke up way in the air ! Julie van Steenwyk class of 84

First, my sincere condolences to Nancy and the family. I've known Hotts since his playing bball days at North Penn, then again at U. of Delaware. If there is one word to describe him, I would say "competitive". As a player, coach then on the racquetball court, Hotts hated to lose. Hotts and I played singles and doubles in practice then in a number of tournaments, and the other players didn't want to play us! We had very good results and no one talked back to him! Hotts, thanks for your friendship and Rest In Peace.

One thing that always struck me about Mr. Hottenstein was the respect the students had for him. He was always available to them to help whatever way he could and they absolutely loved him. Rip Mr. Hottenstein.

What an inspiration you were to my children at H-H. I will never forget the assembly we attended one year and it was very loud. You walked onto the stage and silence and respect immediately followed! Fabulous Educater and leader. Hotts and Connie were THE BEST!

“Hotts” was a pioneer, in coaching and teaching, and understood his role as a leader of young men and women. He was a role model to many and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all that were positively impacted by his presence.

Coach Hotts taught me a great deal about football and life even though we were all so young. I believe his biggest gift was the ability to unify a group of young men into not only a team but a family. I miss those days with all my heart. Coach was the guy who inspired us to get it done! RIP
