Sr Eleanor and my Mother, Jean Barbara Grusenmeyer, were cousins. As I kid visiting Grandma & Grandpa Clouse, Sr Eleanor would happen by for a visit as well. She was not like the nuns I had in school. Sr Eleanor was always telling stories and if you were in the room with her you were laughing. She always had a smile on her face. Always.

Dad, my sister Debra and I were at St Mary of the Springs for their annual Memorial Mass last Sunday. We visited with Sr Eleanor. She was happy, smiling and still telling stories. And yes we laughed. I am grateful we had that visit with her. I will remember Sr Eleanor always with a smile.

Sr. Eleanor you touched the lives of so many. Eleanor and my mother (Jean "Barbie" Clouse-Grusenmeyer) are cousins. My mother passed away earlier this year so our family was invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Mary of the Springs just last Sunday. My dad (Paul), my sister and I took the opportunity to visit with Sr. Eleanor while we were there. She was surprised to see us, she looked great and of course she talked our ear off. What a shock to hear of her passing just three days later. Thank you Lord for sharing your "good and faithful servant" with us for so many years. Our love and prayers are with you Sr. Eleanor.

Sr. Eleanor has always had a special place in our lives. Sr. Eleanor's Aunt, Mary Cooney-Schroeck was my grandmother. It is not often, as a child one gets to sleep in a convent. When I was 8 years old, we were invited with my parents to stay. She will always be an one of the best examples in my life of one of Faith Hope and Love. I am sure that each of us who were touched by her, will be confident to know that we have a wonderous angel in heaven, now, continuing to do His work here on Earth. Sr. Eleanor is so beautiful!
