I worked for at Schottensteins North 10 years. Durning that time I was able to work with Saul and learn from him. Very early in my management training Saul visited a temporary toy store where Ken Brown and I were mangers. Saul wanted to teach Ken and I about merchandsing Saul told us the best ideas for merchandising he learned from shopping Kroger. Saul will be missed and I glad to work and learn from Saul.

Saul would stop by our Candy Shoppe when he would be taking one of his Saturday walks. It has been years since the Bexley Candy Shoppe was open, but I can still hear my mom and dad when Saul would come through the door. "Here comes Saul, one of the kindest men you will ever meet" He always brought such a smile to my family. I do believe they are all together sharing stories as they always did on Saturdays.

Sonia and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Saul's passing. I worked for him for over 31 years and he took me under his wing and was a very giving person. I will share this brief story that relates to what was told by many at his service today but was also experienced in my life as well. He oftened asked me to accompany him on ski trips to Clearfork. He paid for my first ski lesson and we went many times. I played golf with Saul many times and we shared many wonderful times together. His zest for life and sense of family were unmatched and I will always think of fondly. When I last spoke to him, I told him how grateful I was that he was a part of my life. He will be missed.

Your family will never be able to know what a difference Saul Schottenstein made in our lives. He saw my husband working in one of your warehouses and put him in Management training and my husband moved up from there. He kept in touch with Ken until he was unable to get around. We will always remember the kind man that your family has lost. I know Ken is waiting in another place to greet Saul once again. The family of Kenneth Brown.

Dear Sonia -
Saul's passing was in today's Toledo Blade newspaper and I was saddened to read of your husband's death. Uncle Saul was always!! so kind to me - He walked past my home at Broad & Parkview almost every day when I lived there. He'd never fail to ask me how Max and Abraham were. My thoughts are with you, Sonia. Claudia Ruben
