Adam G. Bowen, 60, of Aylett, Virginia passed away at home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with his beloved wife Ann by his side after a brave and ferocious battle with cancer. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Adam was the son of the late Robert Lee Bowen and the late Verna Boole Bowen, and the husband of Ann Barrow Bowen. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Virginia Tech's Electrical Engineering program. Adam was a Vice President System Engineer with Bank of America and has been for the past twenty-nine years.
Adam was raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and spent time in Germany while in service as an M.P. Adam enjoyed life with his work and family. Adam and Ann moved to Aylett and married in 1996. Adam especially enjoyed his best friend and grandson Cole; they were two peas in a pod. They played video games and once built a computer together. Mostly they laughed together; they just fit. Adam was an avid reader, a deep thinker, and could always be counted on to give good advice and a sound opinion. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives.
Left to cherish Adam's memory are his loving wife, Ann; his stepson Calvin "Boyd" Headley; his stepdaughter Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Sanders; his grandson Nicholas Lane "Cole" Sanders; step-niece Theresa; step-nephews Christopher "Chris" Barrow and Walter "Rob". Barrow, Jr.
Per Adam's request his memorial service will be private.
