Adam Ray Mitchem, 60, of Princeton, WV passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. Born May 5, 1964 in Welch, WV, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Bessie Graham Mitchem. Adam was a jack of all trades. He worked in the Coal Mines, was a carpenter, and a great mechanic. In addition to his parents, Adam was preceded in death by his brothers, Earnest and Joseph; sisters, Martha, Mary, and Pricie; granddaughter, Heavenly; and special brother, Edgar.
Those left to cherish Adam's memory are his loving wife, Phyllis Mitchem of the home; children, Thomas Mitchem of WV, Misty Dillow and husband, Malcolm of Bluefield, WV, Alisha Mitchem of Bluefield, WV, Norma Toth and husband, Steve of Welch, WV, Adam Ray Mitchem, Jr. and wife, Kayla of Bluewell, WV, and Joshua Mitchem of Princeton, WV; brothers, Jackie Mitchem of Indiana and Ben Mitchem of Indiana; sisters, Momma Gail and Momma Jane of Bluewell, WV; special sisters, Tammy, Tater, and Cindy; special brothers, Brian Sayers and David (Bird) Denton; special son, Josh Little; 28 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 PM Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Abram officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Mitchem family.
