Alexander Leonard Obituary
Alexander Maximus Leonard, 23, of Parkersburg, lost his battle to cancer after two years on June 28, 2025. He was born in Parkersburg, October 25, 2001 to Melody Cornell Akers and the late Robert Leonard.
Alex was a 2020 graduate of Ravenswood High School where he was a member of the band playing saxophone. He was a volunteer at Ravenswood Fire Department his senior year. Alex attended the First Baptist Church in Ravenswood before moving to Parkersburg. After high school, he went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and went even further when he was accepted into the Master’s program at Marshall University.
In addition to his mother, left to cherish his memory include his step-dad, Randy Akers; brothers, David Cornell and Bradley Leonard; grandparents, Nilah and Fred Cornell, Ray Leonard, and Dale Akers; aunts, Missy and Amanda Cornell; and his uncles, Keith Leonard and Tony (Liz) Akers.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by an uncle, Jeff Cornell.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
