Alfonso "Al" Fasolino

Fasolino, Alfonso "Al," age 82, of Upper Saddle River, passed away, in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 1, 2024.
Born in Avellino, Italy, Alfonso immigrated to the U.S. at the age of seventeen and settled in Paterson. Since immigrating from Italy, Alfonso has continued to reside in New Jersey, most recently residing in Upper Saddle River. Trained as a tailor in Italy, Alfonso spent many years as the owner and operator of a tailor shop on 5th in Paterson, NJ. He then moved on and began working in the textile industry until retiring. After retiring, Alfonso found enjoyment in gardening, cooking, and watching his favorite baseball team, the Yankees.
Alfonso is predeceased by his first wife, Marie Sisti, of Warwick, NY and his three beloved children Mary Lou and her husband John Harvey of Upper Saddle River, NJ, Geraldine and her husband Anthony Fernandez of Warwick, NY, and Marc Fasolino and his wife Lisa, of Warwick, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren John Robert Harvey and his fiancé Anna, Kylie Lynn and her husband Tom Wendell, Felicia Apodaca-Cruz and her husband, Michael, and Anthony and Gianna Fasolino. Loving brother of Concetta Valente, and predeceased by his three siblings, Vincenza Pecoraro, Anna Savarino, and Pasquale Fosolino. Alfonso spent his last years spending time with and reminiscing on the affinity he held for his siblings. Alfonso is also survived by his dear nieces and nephews, Franca Occorso and her husband Santo, Jerry Pecoraro and his wife Maria, Rocco Pecoraro and his wife Lea, Dina Kuprel and her husband Joe, Dawn Heuck and her husband Paul, Annette Diamond and her husband Steve, Michael Saveranio, his wife Vanessa, Jerry Valenti, Junior, Bobby Valenti, and is predeceased by Anthony Valenti. Alfonso has many other nieces and nephews that he dearly adored, and who will cherish his memory. Alfonso will be dearly missed by all those who know and loved him.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:30am, at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum in Paterson. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00pm.
