Alice A. (Rathke) Condi, 94, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Heart to Heart Hospice.
Alice was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1930 to Charles William and Margaret Victoria (Blosl) Rathke. She assisted her husband Paul in operating their business, the Snow White Laundry & Dry Cleaning for 12 years. Alice worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Medical Center and later was the director of nurses at Regina Continuing Care Center. She retired in 1992 from Hill Haven where she was a professional services counselor. Alice was certified as a geriatric nurse by American Nursing Association and was elected Who's Who American Nursing by the University of Evansville. She was a teaching member of the Indiana Health Care Association-Director Nursing Counsel. Alice was an faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for many years. She was involved in PTO, serving as their past president, the pastoral council, hospitality commission, was an Eucharistic minister, and a reader during mass. After St. Theresa's closing, Alice became a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Alice will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Alice is survived by her sons, Paul H. Condi, Jr. of Evansville, IN; Richard A. Condi (Donna) of Evansville, IN, David W. Condi (Carla) of Evansville, IN and Jason A. Condi (Jessica) of Iwakuni, Japan; son-in-law, Jeff Curry of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Zachariah Condi (Lisa), Margaret Avis, Jarrod Condi (April), Kate Cain (Steve), and Stan Birdwell-Condi (Holly); 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Paul H. Condi, Sr.; daughter, Patricia A. Curry; daughter-in-law, Cathy Condi; sister, Mary A. Murray; brothers, Norbert M. Rathke and Charles W. Rathke; and grandson-in-law, Todd Avis.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 North Stockwell Rd., Evansville, IN 47715, with Father Zach Etienne celebrating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with a nursing service beginning at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church from 9:00 am until mass time.
