Allen Thomas Kutch, Jr.
Nov. 20, 1968-May 9, 1925
Allen was born and raised in Rule, TX, to Tom and Myrtle Kutch. He has two sisters, Kathleen and Christine, both living in Lamesa, TX.
He was valedictorian of Rule High School, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M with a degree in petroleum engineering and later got a master's from the University of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
He was married to Sherry Kutch for 34 years and had three children that were his pride and joy- Aaron a computer engineer living in Dallas, Daniel a graduate student of mechanical engineering at Texas A&M, and Leah, a junior graphic design major at SFA.
He worked as a petroleum engineer in Houston for Amoco, BP, and Occidental Petroleum up until 2017, when he suffered a cardiac arrest and retired. He had a heart transplant in 2021 and was doing well until the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in June of 2024.
He enjoyed drinking coffee at Ken Martin's store next door, working in his shop, attending bible study and church at Welcome Lutheran, and planning vacation trips. He spent a lot of time as a boy scout leader of Troop 36 and loved going to camps. He was happiest spending time with his immediate and extended family and friends.
Acara House hospice was a true blessing during his final days, and we are beyond grateful that they kept him comfortable during his final days.
We had many good doctors at Houston Methodist along the way but none of them was as supportive as our hometown Dr. Bosse and PA Mia who truly cared about his well-being.
James 1:12 sums up his last years best "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
