Alvin L. Pobanz, age 77, passed away Monday December 23, 2024.
Alvin was born July 18, 1947 in Beaver Dam, WI the son of Alvin H. and June Brown Pobanz. Al attended Waupun Schools and graduated from Waupun High School in 1965. He then went onto Fox Valley Technical College and received an associate’s degree. On November 15, 1968 he married Jeanne Peterson in Winneconne. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Al was employed at Carnation Co. in Waupun for two years, Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 30 years, and seven years as manager for Marshview Quick Mart in Waupun. Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, bowling, and their time spent at their cottage on Lake Winneconne. Al was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and its Knights of Columbus.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Jeanne Pobanz of 56 years; a son, Brian Pobanz; a daughter, Heather (Kim Fromolz) Pobanz; three grandchildren: Matthew Maastricht Pobanz, Veronica Boyer, and Tony Boyer; a sister, Lorna Pobanz; and nieces and nephews.
Al was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Fr. John Radetski officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Donations may be directed to the Waupun Knights of Columbus.
