Andrew "Drew" Hardesty, 58, of Louisville, KY passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. Andrew was born Friday, January 13, 1967, to Paul and Barbara Hardesty in Louisville, KY.
He met his wife and "bestest friend", Paula, in high school 40 years ago. From that moment their love grew and in their 37 years of marriage they proudly raised two children, Paige (Zach) and Taylor (Bailey). Later in his life he was blessed with his grand-twins who he adored, Lyla and Brodie.
Andrew was an excellent example of a husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved spending time out in the sun, whether he was relaxing at the beach or floating around his pool with his son-in-law Zach and a cold Bud Light in his hand. Andrew was an outdoorsman, always ready to out-fish you or spend a cold morning in the woods hunting with Taylor. He was always so proud of his children and grandchildren.
Andrew was a family man who would do absolutely anything and everything to make sure his family was taken care of. He was someone who never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone.
The world lost a good man, but Heaven gained an angel. He will be deeply and dearly missed but we know he still walks beside us every day.
In keeping with Drew's wishes the family has chosen cremation and has entrusted the staff at Hardy-Close Funeral Home with his care.
