Debra Marie Thompson, age 70, of Shepherdsville, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. She was born in Louisville, KY on Saturday, June 11, 1955.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald W. Holcomb, her great grandmother, Deliah Wood, her siblings, Brenda and Ronnie Jr., along with her father and mother in laws, Garnett and June Thompson.
Debra was a co paster with her husband at Holy Chapel of God for 42 years, where she was well known for being a prayer warrior and was such a loving person to her church congregation. Her family and church family meant so much to her. She enjoyed ministry work throughout the community with her husband and especially enjoyed time with her family and all her grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished always by so many who loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 52 years, David Thompson Sr.; her sons, David Thompson Jr. (Selena), Joseph Thompson (Lisa) and Christopher Thompson (Breann); her siblings, Tony Holcomb (Pam), Millie and Julie Hembree (Billy); her grandchildren, Charity, Shanna, Moriah, Kara, Ashleigh, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Emma, CJ and Annie; 11 great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and her beloved church congregation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Holy Chapel of God 2357 West Blue Lick Road Shepherdsville. Visitations will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children's Ministry and Holy Chapel Homeless Ministry.
