Andrew Kevin MacFarland, 59, of Port Huron, a man of gentle spirit, loving heart, and courageous character, passed away on August 24, 2025, at Corewell Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on September 2, 1965, in Des Plaines, Illinois, Andrew's life was a testament to the values of dedication, service, and family.

Andrew's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Des Plaines, where he attended Palatine High School, graduating with the class of 1983. His commitment to his country was evident early on as he served honorably in the United States Army from 1983 to 1985, stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. After his military service, Andrew furthered his education at St. Clair County Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree. For 25 years, Andrew was a Production Planner and Internal Auditor for BTM Company in Marysville, Michigan.

He married his wife, Elaine Anter on October 28, 1995, in St. Marys Catholic Church Port Huron, Michigan. Then on, Andrew's Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life. He became a devoted member of Holy Trinity Parish. Andrew's life was enriched by his beloved family. He enjoyed spending quailty time with his daughter, Sarah.

A true sports enthusiast, Andrew's interests were diverse and passionate. He was an AYSO soccer referee for 9 years. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of camping, a pastime shared with family and friends over many years. Andrew was also an avid golfer, a dedicated Detroit Tigers baseball, and Detroit Lions football fan. His community spirit shone through as he played baseball on the local team.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine MacFarland; daughter, Sarah MacFarland; brother, Brian (Dilcia) MacFarland; brother-in-law, Douglas (Jacquie) Anter; nieces, Ava and Sophie; nephew, Noah; mother-in-law, Marilyn Anter; and dear friends, Rob and Debbie Rogers.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Alma MacFarland; father-in-law, George Anter; mother-in-law, Rosemarie Anter; and his sister, Dawn MacFarland.

As we bid farewell to Andrew Kevin MacFarland, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, kindness, and an enduring commitment to those he loved. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Andrew's journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit remains a guiding light for us all.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 325 32nd St, Port Huron, MI 48060, with visiting starting at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Bradley Forintos will officiate. A luncheon will follow. Interment with military honors will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Parish.
