Anita Louise (Pope) Davis, 64, Peru, Indiana, formerly of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 31, 2024, in the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne after suffering a heart attack.
Born December 25, 1959, in Clinton, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred (Riden) Pope.
A 1978 graduate of Logansport High School, Anita was active in volleyball and cheerleading.
Anita was the best mom in the world to her three sons and set the bar high as a wonderful mother-in-law. Family meant everything to her, and she bestowed the name, "Honey" to those she loved the most. She was an excellent cook, especially for family gatherings. She also enjoyed sewing. Anita had a heart for cats and was very active in pet rescues and finding them good homes. One of her favorite past times was watching wrestling on TV.
She is survived by three sons, William "BJ" Ingle II (Peggy), Elgin Ingle (Natasha), and Nathan Ingle (Jessica); one sister, Vanessa White (Gary); her precious grandchildren, Joseph, Shelton, Alexander (Emily), Ashton, Abigayle and Vivian Ingle, Adriene Robinson, Braxten, Kayleb and Ahlea Ingle; greatgrandchildren, Liam Hooker, Violet and Harrison Ingle, Delilah Robinson, Hazel,Tesslen and Carter Cope; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved companion, David Dunkin and his daughter, Stacey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Floyd E Pope, Jr., DeLaura K Baker, and William M Pope; her granddaughter, RheaAnna Ingle; and her daughter-in-law, Marina Young-Ingle.
A private family visitation was held in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A Memorial Gathering is planned for Sunday, Nov. 17, 2-6 pm at the Steelworkers Union Hall, 356 W Broadway, Logansport, Indiana. *Please note - it is not this coming Sunday - but the following Sunday, November 17th.
Following cremation, she will be laid to rest with her parents at Mount Hope Cemetery.
