Dr. Anthony Clarke Beauchamp, 92, died March 4, 2025, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born January 11, 1933, in Manhattan, New York, to Andres and Margaret (Perez) Beauchamp.
Dr. Anthony graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in Bay Ridge, New York. In May of 1950, Dr. Anthony proudly enlisted in the United States Navy to fight for his country. He bravely fought in the Korean War, serving as a boatswain's mate second class aboard the U.S.S. Orion. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal during this time, and returned home in December of 1953. He then joined the United States Navy Reserve, serving as a lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps from 1954 to 1958. After his military service, he attended New York University for his undergraduate studies. Following his time at NYU, he pursued a master's degree at Columbia University and then completed his Ph.D. from St. Andrew's College in 1961.
Dr. Anthony was a licensed specialist clinical social worker and mental health educator. Throughout his career, he served patients in various medical facilities and clinics back East and in Kansas, including Prairie View Community Mental Health Center, Horizons Mental Health Center, and The Hutchinson Medical Center. Later on in life, he established his own private practice in Hutchinson and eventually retired in 2000.
In his spare time, Dr. Anthony enjoyed U.S. history, literature, reading, and watching movies. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his bulldogs, and was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Dr. Anthony was previously married to Dimple Hart, then they divorced. On November 1, 1980, he married Jeanine Lucille Meirowsky, in Wichita. She survives.
Other survivors include: his children, Glen, Sharon, Cheryl, Christopher (Lisa), Marshall (Cynthia); grandson, Calvin; and brother, Diego (Bonnie). He will also be missed by his many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by: parents; sister, Bonaventure; and brother, Andrew.
Parish rosary will be 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, both at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2631 Independence Rd, Hutchinson, with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas Honor Flight, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
