Anthony (Tony) Kirby of Paris, IL passed away on September 22, 2024 at Horizon Health in Paris, IL.
He was born on July 30, 1956 in Paris, IL, to Gene and Hilda Kirby. They survive.
He is survived by his wife Anne Kirby and their children, Annie (Nick) Connell of Dunlap, IL, Ryan (Emily) Kirby of Robinson, IL, grandson Easton Kirby, and Tyler Kirby of Lebanon, IL; brother Tim (Dawn) Kirby; and sister Cindy (Kirby) Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Marie Ayres; his paternal grandparents, Chester and Elsie Kirby; brother Gene Kirby, Jr.; niece Kara Kirby Ike, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tony spent his professional career as a Civil Engineer, first working for the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Connecticut Department of Transportation. He then worked at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Forrest Service, and U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
In his spare time, Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and maintaining the home. He also enjoyed cooking, especially for his parents. The birth of his grandson Easton was one of Tony's greatest joys.
In honor of Tony's wishes, there will be no services. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to D.O. It of Edgar County or the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
