Arthur Sinski, Sr., 89, whose life was defined by a commitment to family, faith, community, and the arts, died at peacefully on October 19th, 2023. Art was born in Passaic NJ, October 25, 1933, he was a life-long resident of Passaic up until 28 years ago when he settled into his retirement as a resident of Whiting Station in
Whiting, N.J.As childhood sweethearts and meeting at the age of 5 and 6, he fell in love with Mary Ann Snyder. He was drafted into the United States Army where he served 2 years in Japan. Upon return he married the love of his life Mary Ann. Art was an outstanding husband and treated Mary Ann like a queen until she drew her last breath in 2017. Art was an exceptional father; he adored his children. They were his life, and he would light up like a Christmas tree when he would hear or speak of them.
He had a successful career as the Fire Captain for the Passaic Fire Department, Art was highly respected and loved by his fellow firefighters. He worked as the Treasurer of the Relief Association for the Passaic Fire Department. Most notably, Art was awarded the COMMENDABLE SERVICE AWARD, for outstanding heroism in the face of dangerous conditions and risk to his own safety. – Art ran into many burning buildings to save lives!
Also, Art was an exceptional artist, he painted scenery and signs for many social functions for his kids' elementary school as well as sharing his talents as a member of the Whiting Station Entertainment Committee. A notable painting was the American Indian Mural on the Passaic Stadium. Art also painted individual portraits of his dear friends which he would gift to them. Art loved to build models; a recent creation was a beautiful Victorian doll house which he donated to a local Childrens Hospital.
He is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Mary Ann Sinski, his mother,Josephine (Havrilla) Sinski, his brother Walter Sinski, Jr., and his sister Eleanor Favaro.
Art will be forever held in the hearts of his loving family; his surviving sister Joan Mazzo, Children: son Pastor Arthur Sinksi, Jr., and his wife JoEtta, Arlene Aguilar son Robert Sinski and his significant other Ruth Bulmer, son Michael Sinski and his wife Laurie and daughter Mary Ann Evans. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren: Naomi, Noah, Justin, Abigail, Rebecca, Charissa, and Caleb, as well as a host of loving extended family, friends, and Fireman brothers.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 3 to 7pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Rd., Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to the B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery,
