Austin John Sisneros
July 9, 1991 - February 8, 2023
Austin John Sisneros, 31, returned home to his Heavenly Father on February 8, 2023. We are comforted knowing he was greeted by the open arms of his mom. Austin was born in
Provo, Utah on July 9, 1991. He was a complete joy from the moment he was born. Austin graduated from Riverton High School in 2009 with honors. He served as Senior Class President. He enjoyed performing in multiple school plays, musicals and acapella. Austin received the Sterling Scholar Award his senior year. He attended Brigham Young University following graduation for one year before serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the
Detroit, Michigan Mission (2010-2012). Upon returning, he continued his studies at Brigham Young University where he experienced studying abroad in Jerusalem and was a member of the BYU Men's Chorus. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science (2017). Austin was accepted into the medical school program at Pacific Northwest University to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.
Austin served in the U.S. Army for nearly 4.5 years, beginning September 25, 2018. Upon completion of his medical doctorate degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, he was promoted to the rank of Captain on May 21, 2022. Following graduation, Dr. Sisneros began his career as a resident in the Family Medicine Department at Darnell Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, TX. Austin's greatest joy was the day he became a father. Max and McKay, you captured his heart instantly! His love for you was shown in everything he did. He comforted you with his beautiful voice. He cared and comforted you when you were sick. He had the ability to bring your bedtime stories to life. He was fun. Your dad enjoyed taking you both on vacations and creating memories together. He celebrated each of your milestones with excitement. Oh how he loved being your daddy!
Austin's gift for music was the key to his heart. Music was his soul. He played the saxophone, piano and guitar. He loved singing and performing. He earned his golden ticket on American Idol and had the opportunity to perform in Hollywood. He lit up every room he walked into. Austin was adventurous, outgoing and he loved the outdoors. He was our prankster and had an amazing sense of humor. Austin succeeded at everything he did. He was courageous, kind and a dedicated, hard worker who expressed gratitude to all of those who helped him along the way. Austin's bright light, smile and infectious laugh was felt by all who knew him.
Austin had a way of connecting with others on such a deep level, and it was comforting. He had the ability to love big and always made you feel important. He gave the best hugs. He was sincere, thoughtful, and made you feel special through compliments, encouragement and praise. Austin's energy was addicting, and it was hard not to love him. He had such a big impact on everyone who knew him. He lived life to the fullest. He will always hold a special place in all our hearts and will be missed beyond measure. Our family is grateful for Austin's coworkers, nurses, friends, and mentors at the VA Hospital who supported and showed Austin so much love.
His patients felt loved, valued, and heard. His passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Kelly Jo Curtis; his grandparents, Ron and Jan Curtis. Austin leaves behind a family who adores him; his sons, Maxwell McAllister Sisneros and McKay Michael Sisneros, are his world. His father, Christopher John Sisneros; bonus mom, Brittney (Brady) McIntyre; his siblings who are also his closest friends, Alisha (Nick) Cleaver, Jessica Sisneros, Landon Sisneros, Halle McIntyre, Avery McIntyre and Mayzie McIntyre; his nieces, Londyn Cleaver, Liv Cleaver and nephew, Kellen Cox; his grandparents, Dorene Jones, Victor and Lesa Sisneros and Sue Phillips; and his partner, Ben.
In lieu of flowers, our family would like you to take time to spend with those you love; go to lunch or walk in the mountains. There is someone out there who needs you.
