Barbara (Barb) D. George, 73, of Fairport, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 9, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

In 1981, Barb met her husband, Mick, spending 44 wonderful years together, and raised three beautiful children, Miles, Lindsay, and Dylan.

Barb was a child of nature and a lover of all things creative. She had an incredible eye for a wide array of artistic mediums, including floral design, drawing, painting, and costume/fashion design, to name a few. She was the green thumb of the family, planting several beautiful gardens around her home and was the human database who knew the name of almost every flower she spotted. As a lifelong enthusiast of flowers, she turned her passions into a career as a florist for over 20 years. She had such an eye for floral arrangements, that her designs brought immense amounts of joy into many people’s lives and homes. She loved to draw, doodle and calligraphy, and she was also known for her famous birthday hats and cards that she would gift to family and friends. Barb created so many beautiful things and would think nothing of them, but everything she created was a true work of art, and will be cherished for years to come.

Barb’s priority was always her children and their health and happiness. She fostered a household environment filled with love and passion, and she consistently encouraged her kids to pursue what made them happy. There wasn’t a school play, concert, dance recital or soccer game that she missed. She always put her children’s needs before her own, and led by example of what it means to parent in the same way. In September 2024, Barb became a grandmother to her first grandchild, Parker, who absolutely lit up her world. Barb’s lessons as a mother will live on through her three children and generations to come.

She had a big personality and an even bigger heart, showing equal kindness to strangers as she would to her own family. The door was always open to all of her children's friends and she would always offer them snacks, which made them believe that she was the Italian in the family (she wasn't). Known by many names, including Barbie, B, Babs, Beebee, B-Buns, Queen Bee, Juju from Spain, and many others, but most importantly, Mom.

Barb is survived by her husband Mick George, children Miles (Sally) George, Lindsay (Grant) Gothing, and Dylan (Michaela) George, grandson Parker Gothing, brothers (Peter, Jimmy, Dan, and John), and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her father, Dr. Dan Davis, and mother Peggy Davis.

Barb put so much love and good into the world. She consistently lit up a room, made the world a lot brighter, and her legacy will live on. As she said in her art and in person: “Peace is the Child of Love”.

Services for Barb were held privately.
