Barbara "Bobbi" Kay Smith was born in Superior, WI on February 9, 1956 to her Mother, JoAnn "Jody" Smith and Father, Robert Smith, spending much of her upbringing under the loving care of her grandparents Adolf and Una Molner.
Growing up on a farm, Bobbi developed a deep love for horses. She loved them so much that even after being thrown from her horse and breaking her back as a young mom, it was not the horse that got in trouble, but the kids for making the poor horse run all the way home as Mom headed to the hospital. Mom's protective love was strong! Anyone that knows Bobbi also knows about her deep love for the Minnesota Vikings. For the latest family photo shoot, Mom insisted that everyone be dressed in Vikings gear. Win or lose, you couldn't tell Mom a thing about her Vikings!
Neither Bobbi's love for horses nor for the Vikings came close to her fierce and steadfast love for her children, David, Tate, Ezra (Mao), Barbara Jo (Bryan), Jeff (Racheal), Grandchildren Bryan Jr, Alexis (Felix), Chanelle, Daiyah, Emir, Zakai, Kamaurie, Gabriella, Jeffrey Jr, Nalani, Tayla, Saphire, Aurora, Nala, Myrah, Davina and Zaya, Sister Debra, Brothers Kevin (Diana) and Jody (Trice), Nieces and Nephews Denise (Marcus), Carlon, Jennifer, Jody Jr, Brittany, Cory and Lyndsey, a host of great nieces, nephews, and bonus grandchildren, Bobbi's long time friends Virginia and James, bonus mom, Mary Gosen & her beloved fur baby, Sassy. Bobbi was always with her family, cheering on her grandkids at their games and performances, enjoying conversations around the fire, and of course, watching the Vikings games, Sassy always nearby.
After a show of immense strength and courage battling cancer, Bobbi passed away peacefully in her home on November 18, 2022, surrounded by pictures of all the things she loved most throughout her life, Sassy at her foot, and in the company of her most precious love of all, her family.
Bobbi will be missed dearly, and we are truly blessed to have been able to build such a legacy in her honor through her children, grandchildren, and all those that have known and loved our Mom, Sister, Grandma, Aunt, and Friend.
