Barry Altland Obituary

Barry was born in Hanover, PA on December 12, 1942 and was the son of the late Amos Feeser and Kathryn Altland. He graduated from Eichelberger High School in Hanover and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Barry also worked as a receiving clerk for Sealed Air in Hanover for many years prior to his retirement.
In addition to his loving wife Jane, Barry is survived by his children Sean Altland and wife Joanie and Kirsten Grier and husband Paul; his grandchildren Devin, Wyatt, Jordyn, and Jakari; two nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Sterner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Barry's Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Dr., Hanover, PA 17331 with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline as celebrant. He will be laid to rest following the Mass at Conewago Chapel Cemetery in Hanover with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with prayers at 7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barry's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
