Publish in a newspaper

Bernice Veronica McAtee, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on August 19, 2025.

Bernice was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and lived a life marked by strength, love, and deep devotion to her family and faith.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Louis McAtee Jr., their two sons Dennis McAtee and Tim McAtee, her parents Joseph and Margaret Dukeman, and her nine siblings and their spouses.

Bernice was the proud and loving mother of seven children- George (Gay) Smith, Debbie (Dave) Mills, Dennis McAtee, Tammy (Mike) Galli, Kelly Harrington, Jerry (Tina) McAtee, and Tim (Wendy) McAtee. She was blessed with fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and even two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Bernice was full of life, love, and undeniable style. She was the definition of a fashionista-always rocking her high heels, favorite jewelry and had a sparkle that was all her own. She had a radiant presence. More than just her fashion, Bernice was known for her joyful spirit, love for fun and being a social butterfly who made friends wherever she went. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life: bowling, playing bingo, trying her luck at the casino, traveling, having laughs at her favorite local taverns, and dancing the night away. Bernice lived every moment with laughter and energy. Bernice McAtee leaves behind quite the legacy, one of love, faith, laughter, and style. Her memory will live on in the joy she brought to others and the fabulous way she embraced life.

A Celebration of Life to immediately follow after mass at the Fireman's Union Hall, 115 McMenamy Rd., St. Peters, MO 63376.
