Mrs. Betty Sue Driggers Jacobs, age 92, entered into rest on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Cheraw Church of God by Pastor Ricky Cates and Cathy Teal with burial to follow in the Driggers Family Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Jacobs was born August 7, 1932 in Marlboro County, SC a daughter of the late Maston and Ruth Ritchie Driggers. Mrs. Betty was a faithful member of the Cheraw Church of God for more than 70 years. Along with her commitment to her faith, Mrs. Betty was faithfully committed to caring for her family. Even at the height of her illness, Betty’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy. Though she had a special love for her children, she loved all children as she babysat many neighborhood kids throughout the years. Betty also enjoyed working in her yard and admiring the flowers in her garden.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobs was also preceded in death by her husband, Arte Jacobs; grandsons, Charles Harward, III, Ricky T. Jacobs; great-granddaughter, Emily Harward; siblings, Maston Driggers, Jr., Jaqueline Sparks, Dot Steen, and Lee Smith.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn Harward of Wadesboro, NC, Debrah Jacobs of Wallace, SC, Elaine Sylvia of Wallace, SC, Ricky Terry (Jeanette) Jacobs of Wallace, SC, William Christopher (Angel) Jacobs of Wallace, SC; grandchildren, Phillip (Joy) Harward, Christy (Dac) Brown, Tracy (James) Markham, Travis (Stacy) Garris, Wendy (Steve) Ziegler, Thomas Sylvia, Jamie Anderson, Brandon Jacobs, Christopher “C.C.” Jacobs, Stephanie Jacobs, Will (Savannah) Jacobs; 34 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Lyons of NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Butch Boan, Liz, and the staff of McLeod Hospice for their exceptional care and support.
