Billy Stephen Edwards, passed away on September 19, 2024, at Houston Methodist Clearlake Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1938, in Neodesha, Kansas, where he spent his early years and developed a deep fondness for the simple pleasures of life that would come to define his character.
Billy was a man of great integrity and dedication. He pursued his education at Oklahoma State University and later attended the University of Oklahoma Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. His career as an attorney allowed him to impact the lives of many within his community, and he approached his work with the same simplicity and sincerity that characterized his personal life.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Billy recognized him as a simple man who found joy in life's small pleasures. He was known for his contagious smile, which brought warmth and positivity to all who crossed his path. Billy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose family meant everything to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Irene Edwards, with whom he shared a beautiful life since 1961. Billy is also survived by his daughter, Stephanie Sullivan, and his son, John Edwards. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Zachary Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, Courtney Puffer, and Caden Musa, who will remember him fondly for the love he shared and the lessons he imparted.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, Bill Edwards; his mother, Ruth Edwards; and his brother, John H. Edwards. Their memories will surely live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
In this time of sorrow, we celebrate the remarkable life of Billy Stephen Edwards and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
