Bobby Wayne Andrews, Jr., 47, went home to be with the Lord on Friday September 8, 2023. He was born in Alamance County and was the son of Bobby and Ellen Hall Andrews.
He graduated from Western Alamance High School where he was in the band and ran cross country, and he attended Alamance Community College. Bobby was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, family minister and on the mission team. He was formerly employed by Haeco as a structures mechanic and by Vesuvius in quality control. Bobby truly loved playing the guitar and singing. During Covid, he would walk around the neighborhood playing his guitar and ukulele and singing to bring some encouragement and joy to others during that difficult time. He also loved nature, enjoying God’s creation, particularly flowers and gardening, grilling and cooking. Bobby was a true friend, a creative soul and had a heart for serving others.
He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Ellen Andrews; half-sister, Sharon Rutherford; aunts, Judy Harrell and husband, Bobby, and Kay Andrews; and cousins, Patricia Prudhomme and Eric Harrell. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Tom Andrews, Javey and Eva Hall; and an aunt, Peggy Thompson.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday September 12, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. David Morton. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. The graveside service will be private.
