Services for Mr. Bobby Don Chitty, 77, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at Riverside Mission Church, with Bro. Donnie Herring and Bro. Jim Chitty officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Bobby Chitty passed away on March 13, 2025, in Tyler. He was born on July 16, 1947, in Grand Saline to Otho Burr and Lizzie Mae Taylor Chitty. A lifelong resident of Grand Saline, Bobby was a devoted member of Riverside Mission Church. He dedicated 30 years of service to Vought Aircraft before retiring.
Bobby cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, and had a deep passion for genealogy. He also found great joy in attending races, a pastime he truly loved.
Mr. Chitty is preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter, Kate Daugherty; brother, Bill Chitty; and grandson-in-law, Lance Kindle.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sue Chitty of Grand Saline; two sons, Billy Chitty and wife Stacie of Fruitvale, and Jimmy Chitty and wife Kristy of Grand Saline; two daughters, Donna Taylor and husband Rick of Grand Saline, and Mary Lowe and husband Micah of Grand Saline; two brothers, Wesley Chitty of Grand Saline, and Dennis Chitty and wife Phyllis of LaRue; two sisters, Brenda Broussard of Haltom City, and Carolyn Williams of Valley View; thirteen grandchildren, Jonathan Chitty, Cassi Chitty, Jennifer Smallwood, Ashley McGee, Angela Kindle, Joseph Daugherty, Bailey Nix, Taylor Moore, Kasey Stanberry, Mason Foshee, Harley Pyle, Connor Lowe, and Cameron Lowe; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Daugherty, Jonathan Chitty, Connor Lowe, Cameron Lowe, Riley Phillips, Marc Chitty, Rick Taylor, Micah Lowe, and Bubba Swain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Gray, Robert Littlejohn, Teddy Gray, and Randall Alexander, Sr.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
