Bonni Kinne Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel - Grand Ledge on Oct. 17, 2023.
Bonni Lynn Kinne, 62, of Grand Ledge, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Born on March 9, 1961, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bonni's life was marked by a deep commitment to her family, her faith, and her work in the field of physical therapy.
Bonni is survived by her mother, Sandra Kinne, her brother Stephen Kinne and his wife Jennifer, along with her beloved nieces, Angela and Allison Kinne. She was preceded in death by her father, John Kinne, and her grandparents, Harley and Esther Kinne, Arthur and Erma Brandt.
Bonni was a proud graduate of Grand Ledge High School's class of 1979. Her high school years were also marked by her talent for softball, a passion that would lead her to Western University on a scholarship. Her skills on the field were recognized when she was selected for the 1st Team All American.
After completing her education, Bonni embarked on a fulfilling career in physical therapy. She worked as a professor of Physical Therapy at Grand Valley State University and served as the clinical director for the school's Physical Therapy program. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her commitment to nurturing the next generation of physical therapists.
However, Bonni's life was not solely defined by her professional achievements. She was also deeply involved in her church community. A long-time member of the Grand Ledge First United Methodist Church, Bonni taught Discipleship classes, sharing her deep faith and love for her community.
A Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge. Bonni and I were good friends at WMU. We were both student athlete's . After graduation I moved to northern Mi and she to WI and then back to grand ledge. We lost touch through the busy years but I will never forget what a kind person she was to me and others. Bonni had a very keen intellect and she worked hard at her studies earning her many deans list accolades. What I most remember about her athleticism was her fierce pitching at WMU and when she won All American status. She was a leader in all aspects of her college experiences. I was on the basketball team and one day decided to step up to the plate and try to hit her fast ball ... she threw at 97 miles an hour. It was then that I decided to stick to slow pitch softball. Bonni I wish we would have reconnected during our career years but I will always remember your smile and tenacity for the things in life you cared deeply for. My deepest condolences to your Mom and family.

I remember Bonni as a colleague while at Sparrow outpatient rehabilitation. She was a skilled therapist and always put clients first. She had a great sense of humor and was a people person. She will be missed.

I´m so sorry to hear of Bonnie´s passing. I knew her from high school and enjoyed playing basketball with her. In addition to her athletic skills, she was smart and funny and a great friend. Sincere sympathy to her family.
