Bradford C. Freeman, known affectionately to all as Brad, lived a life that was as impactful as it was inspiring. Born on November 23, 1962, in Effingham, IL to Carolyn (Wes) Harper and Gerald (Lou Ann) Freeman. Brad's journey through life was a testament to the grace of God and the power of faith. On June 28, 2025, in Evansville, IN, Brad's earthly chapter came to a close as he passed away after a long valiant battle with cancer.
Brad's life was a beacon of service and dedication. His military career was marked by honor and distinction as he served as a Major and Chaplain in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. His unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers and to his country exemplified the very best of what it means to serve. Ending his time with the military, Brad continued to guide others as a pastor, shepherding his flock with the same love and devotion he showed in every aspect of his life.
Beyond his formal roles, Brad was an entrepreneur with a passion for empowering others. He was the owner of Jasper kung Fu where he practiced Wing Chun Kung Fu in Jasper, IN, where he taught more than martial arts; he instilled confidence, discipline, and respect. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him to establish Ace Handyman Services, through which he helped countless individuals and families by bringing his craftsmanship and care into their homes.
Family was the cornerstone of Brad's life. He was a loving husband to Cindi for 40 amazing years, a guiding light to his children Stephanie (Brandonn), Kimberly (Elijah), and Benjamin (Olivia), and a playful grandfather to Brayden, Gavin, Lillian, Owen, Maddison, Piper, and Hazel. He is survived by his younger brothers Gregg and Kirk. Brad's legacy is carried on through the lives of his family members, who continue to walk in the path of love and faith that he laid before them.
Brad's love for the Lord was the driving force behind everything he did. His faith was not just a belief but a way of life that he embraced with every fiber of his being. He served the Lord with grace, and his passion for life was a reflection of his faith-filled heart.
Those who knew Brad would describe him as loving, faith-filled, and passionate. He approached every day with a zest for life that was contagious, always seeking to lift others up and spread positivity wherever he went. He was a man who didn't just talk about making a difference-he lived it.
Bradford C Freeman's story does not end here. It is carried forward in the hearts of those he touched, in the lives he changed and the community he helped build. He was a life that will continue to inspire, a narrative of a man who walked the earth with purpose and left it with a legacy of love and hope. Rest in peace, Brad: your journey continues to motivate us all.
A celebration of Brad's journey will be held on Thursday July 3, 2025, at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center and Cemetery. Family and friends can join his family for 1-2 for a visitation. A burial with military honors will also be held afterwards.
