Bradley Patrick Denton, died unexpectedly Friday, February 2, 2024.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Red Oak Christian Church, officiated by Reverend Reece Jones. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Bradley was born January 24, 1979, in Greenville NC, to Steve and Shirley Evans Denton. He grew up in the Bell Arthur/Ballards Crossroads community, attending Pitt County Schools and graduating from Farmville Central High School in 1997. During his high school career he was a student athlete, excelling in baseball and football.
His childhood through teenage years were filled with playing multiple sports, spending time during the summer on family beach vacations and at the river, staying many nights with his uncle Eddie, Aunt Barbara and cousin Blake, hunting and fishing with his father, Steve, his brother Bobby, and in the latter years with his two nephews Landon and Luke. Bradley also loved UNC basketball all his life, holding on to his grandfather Edgar's tradition of Carolina fanship.
For several years, Bradley worked alongside his brother Bobby and many others at Player's Choice Billiards Sports Bar and Grill and EZPRO Baths Express. His most recent employment was with Sutton Amusements. Through these work relationships that he built with others, he became well known for his contagious smile and his warm heart.
That heart, over the last three years, was overflowing with love for his son, Wrighton Charles. They experienced so much joy together fishing, spending time at the river, taking adventurous day trips, playing outside, and enjoying racing and playing with Hot Wheels at Grandma Shirley's house.
Family members who preceded Bradley in death were his grandparents, Edgar and Mimi Denton, Leslie and Josie Evans, and his aunts Bonnie Evans and Barbara Evans Adams.
Bradley was greatly loved and will be missed dearly by those surviving him: son, Wrighton Charles Denton (and his mother Alexis Hope Blake); parents, Steve and Shirley Denton; brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Mindy Denton; and nephews Landon and Luke Denton.
He is also survived by his aunts and uncles; Donna and Danny Harris, Wayland and Elaine Denton, Jimmy and Kim Evans, and Eddie Evans; his cousins and their families Shelley, Glen, Macon and Audrey Shoemaker, Jennifer and Jay Rogers and Ava Leigh McConnell, Derek, Carley, Lucy, and Benjamin Denton, Scott Denton, Blake, Nick, Savannah and Liam Whaley, and Cristan and Seth Martin. He is also survived by many extended Denton and Evans family members.
Memorials may be made to Potter's Wheel Ministries, 147 Faith Lane, Mt. Olive, NC 28365 or to Red Oak Christian Church, 1827 Greenville Blvd. SW, Greenville, NC 27834.
