Brenda Sue Blankenship

Brenda Sue Justice Blankenship 70 years of age of Oakwood, VA, went to her Heavenly home suddenly, Thursday July 24, 2025. She was born in Richlands, VA, June 22, 1955.
She was the Pastor of Harvest Outreach Church of Keen Mountain, VA. She loved preaching, teaching God's word, playing her guitar and singing when and wherever she was asked. She minster in song at funerals helping other families and was on her way to sing when God called her home.
She was greatly loved and will greatly be missed. She was a strong woman of faith and dedicated to God and spreading the gospel. She stood for the truth and the right no matter what, she never wavered in her faith. Loving mother, giver and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, James William Blankenship, May 23, 2022.
She is survived by her daughters, Loretta (James) Osborne of Jewell Ridge, VA and Stella Blankenship of Oakwood, VA. Special friend like family, Ernie Stiltner of Grundy, VA; foster brother, Cecil Blankenship of Oakwood, VA, foster sisters, Patty (Doug) Osborne of Tazwell, VA, Daisy (David) Blankenship of Tazwell, VA and a host of other friends.
Funeral services for Brenda Sue Justice Blankenship will be conducted Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home of Keen Mountain, VA. Ministers will be Pastor Luther Bowman, Pastor Roger Pete Woods and Rev. Edgar Mullins. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery, Training Field Road, Oakwood, VA.
Active pallbearers will Jeffery Blankenship, Anthony Stacy and other family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Arnolde "Bounce" Campbell, Delman Thacker and Cecil Blankenship.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. Monday where evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be live stream on the funeral homes Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
