Barbara Sue Keene Bowman, 69 years of age, of Honaker, VA, passed away at Russell County Medical Center on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Born August 2, 1956 in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Deladess Wilson Keene.
Barbara loved going to church and was a member of Harvest Outreach Church. She enjoyed playing Sudoku and crossword puzzles, watching tv with her grandkids, and loved spending time with her family of friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ferdie Bowman; brothers Grady D. Keen, Johnny Wayne Keene, infant brother Tommy L. Keene; and sister Sandra G. Keene.
Survivors include brother B.J. Keene and wife Lois of Cedar Bluff, VA; sons Jeffery Blankenship and Randall Blankenship of Honaker, VA; granddaughters Elizabeth Mitchell and husband Jonathan of Honaker, VA, Sarah McClanahan and husband Josh of Honaker, VA.
She is also survived by great grandchildren Heath, Ashlynn, Madellen, Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Barbara Sue Bowman will be held at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Keen Mountain, VA, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Russell Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon, VA.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m.
